Fortville + Surrounding Areas

Du Lit

Du Lit is a family-friendly scratch kitchen that emphasizes healthy, made-from-scratch dishes. Founded by Preston Zwolle, whose personal health journey inspired the diverse menu, the restaurant offers a variety of options catering to different dietary needs, including gluten-free and lactose-free choices. Du Lit’s commitment to fresh ingredients is evident, as the kitchen operates without a freezer, fryer, or microwave, ensuring all dishes are prepared fresh daily.  The inviting atmosphere is enhanced by Zwolle’s own artwork and a warmly lit patio, creating a welcoming space for both families and couples seeking a delightful dining experience.

Taxman Brewery

We love Taxman! The food & beer are delicious and the atmosphere is 👌. The service has been less than desirable a few times that we’ve been (during times when they weren’t very busy), but we have also had great experiences – so take that as you will.

Foxgardin

The location on Olio Rd. is a family kitchen, but the downtown Fortville location is 21+ only. Both locations have the same menu, so it depends on the atmosphere you prefer. The menu changes seasonally, so I won’t share my favorite dishes (but I will say, I’ve never tried anything I didn’t love 😋). If you’re not in the mood for a full meal, just grab a seat at the bar and enjoy an appetizer & a cocktail. You won’t be disappointed.

Denver’s Garage Pizza & Brews

We love Denver’s for a family outing & the pizza is 👌 The atmosphere is great, and on nice weather days, they open the garage doors and have a large patio with outdoor seating. Also a great place to grab a pizza and beer on a date night or with friends. We give this spot an A+.

Cortona’s Italian Cuisine & Wine Bar

Cortona’s Italian Cuisine in Fortville is a charming, family-owned restaurant known for its authentic and flavorful Italian dishes. With a cozy and inviting atmosphere, Cortona’s offers a menu filled with homemade pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and expertly crafted entrees that transport diners straight to Italy. Using fresh, high-quality ingredients, the restaurant delivers a true taste of Italian tradition with every bite. Whether you’re in the mood for a romantic dinner or a delightful meal with family and friends, Cortona’s provides a warm, welcoming experience that makes every visit memorable. They are a little pricey, but part of what you pay for is atmosphere and quality!

Scooter’s Coffee

Scooter’s is a drive-thru only coffee joint off of Broadway in Fortville. They serve coffees, energy drinks, and breakfast items.

Taxman Brewery

Every time we sit up at the bar, the service is amazing. The food is delicious, the drinks are amazing, and the atmosphere is 👌👌.

305 Wine Garage

If you’re looking for a great date night, girl’s night out, or just a cozy spot to relax with a book & glass of wine, this is it. They have a great selection of wines, delicious food (incredible chef!), and a cozy atmosphere. They also open the garage doors on nice weather days & have lots of outdoor seating as well.

Libby’s Ice Cream

Absolute best cookies & cream ice cream on the planet. No, really. You must try it! We have yet to try a flavor we didn’t like, but we always grab a quart of the cookies & cream to take home – and it’s usually gone within the week. If you stop in Fortville for shopping & dinner, be sure to pop in for a sweet treat.

Paradise Shaved Ice

What a cute place! We stopped in after school one day to grab some Dole Whip & it was delicious. My daughter loved the atmosphere and the staff were really sweet.

Fortville Memorial Park

We love visiting this park. There are several baseball fields, and each one has its own little playground. Toward the back of the park, there are slides built into a hill, bbq areas with picnic tables, and another playground with slides.

Tuttle Orchards

There’s so much I could say about this place! We love their seasonal events and classes, we buy all our veggie plant starters here (they are the healthiest plants around – I promise), & we treat ourselves to goodies at the cafe or farm store whenever we stop by the greenhouse. Check out their instagram or website for upcoming events and classes.

Flatfork Creek Park

Flatfork Creek is our favorite place for creek stomping and mountain biking in the Fishers/Fortville area. There’s a big sledding hill for snow play, a pond for fishing, and a wooded area with a creek running through. There are also several trails around the hill, around the pond, and through the woods for mountain biking or walking.

Studio 309 Art Studio

Sheri offers paint parties, birthday parties, summer camps, homeschool & after school art classes. We hosted our daughter’s birthday party here and had an absolute blast! She loved every second of it and can’t wait to attend an art class in the future.

Wright’s Gymnastics & Ninjazone

This brand new (2024) facility is right on the border of Fishers and Fortville. They have Ninjazone classes, Lil Ninja classes for ages 3-5, school-age gymnastics classes for K-6th graders, and preschool gymnastics classes for children who are walking – Pre-K. They also offer FUNtimes free play for members ($15 per session for non-members), Kid’s Night Out events, birthday parties, and camps during summer, fall, and winter break! Check out their website for class schedules and pricing, or schedule a FUNtime session to try out the facility.

Downtown Fortville

Downtown Fortville has several little shops and restaurants. You will find home decor, a flower shop, clothing shops, a spa, and a wine shop (which also has a restaurant).

PJ’s Pink Boutique

This adorable boutique in downtown Fortville is always stocked with seasonal styles. The owner is very sweet, is present around the shop, and thoughtfully chooses pieces that will complement any wardrobe!
